Old talk

Wiki policy discussion

The new wiki policy discussion. I outlined a proposal based in wikipedia.--Beto (talk | contribs) 12:39, 21 September 2006 (CDT)

  • Behavioral: standards for behavior.
  • Content: which topics are welcome.
  • Enforcement: what action authorised users can take to enforce other policies.
  • Deletion: deleting articles that are considered undesirable.
  • Legal and copyright: firm rules about what material may be used here, and remedies for misuse.

All have to be aligned with HA TOS. A good starting point for this discussion would be categorizing each TOS to a policy category.--Beto (talk | contribs) 12:43, 21 September 2006 (CDT)

Behavioral (proposed)

reviewed. i think we are probably done with this section. admins could take a look and see if nothing is missing.--Beto (talk | contribs) 20:21, 16 October 2006 (CDT)

Content (proposed)

I added a language policy aligned to HA TOS.--Beto (talk | contribs) 18:37, 26 September 2006 (CDT)

also mostly done.--Beto (talk | contribs) 20:22, 16 October 2006 (CDT)

Articles

If you see a source or website that mimicks an article without referencing us, our page may copy theirs. In case, replace the page with (DO NOT add to the header, replace it for legal issues):

{{copyvio|Justification (e.g. url, book source...)}}

To admins: if you see a copyvio article, e.g. in Category:Articles marked as copyright violations, check it, verify it, and if it is a violation, DELETE IT without notice.

Images

Do not upload images from search engines or websites here. They are likely copyrighted.

Fair use images are allowed to a degree. (Please expand this section.)

If you own an image, you must upload it with a free license, e.g. GFDL or Creative Commons. You cannot use your own work as fair use.

If you copy an image from elsewhere, state where and which license it is, or your fair use rationale.

Do we have to be this restrictive? Where did you take that everything uploaded must comply with GFDL or CC licenses? I'm curious...--Beto (talk | contribs) 21:24, 21 September 2006 (CDT)
it's all the GFDL allows... it's crappy, yeah, but it's what this wiki is licensed under. ElliottmobileFishysig.PNG 16:19, 26 September 2006 (CDT)
