Revision as of 15:27, 24 July 2006
I am an IT Audit Supervisor at ABN AMRO's Group Audit Department in Brasil. I am mainly focused in auditing the client/server infrastructure and strategy of the Bank and related companies in Brasil.
Audio compression and related technologies are one of my hobbies, and I've been dedicating some time that I have to learn about this issues now. That's how I came across hydrogenaudio forums in early 2003.
Personal Profile
I was born in São Paulo in July 1975. I've also lived some time in a small town in São Paulo state countryside called Marília where I went to high school.
After high school (in 1994) I moved back to São Paulo to continue my studies at the local university. During that period my main interests were:
- Wired and wireless telecomunication systems
- Digital coding for wired and wireless solutions
- Analog and digital filters
- Antennas and signal propagation
- Discrete and continuous transforms
After some personal frustrations in the engineering field I received a proposal to join ABN AMRO's Internal Audit Department in 1998 as an intern. This decision brought a great shift in my professional focus and I decided to face engineering more as a hobby from that day forth.
So, I went to learn Economics at another local university and got my degree in 2002, where my main academic interests were:
- National and international banking
- Keynesian economics
- Inflation targeting in emerging market countries
- Econometrics
- Value at risk
- Economic policy and central banks
Recently my interest in digital audio has grown and I started to investigate the subject. Certainly I am not as savvy as most of hydrogenaudio regulars, but I am learning and hope I may add some value to this community.
